Serlo ABC app for iPhone and iPad

Serlo ABC is a free literacy app designed as an intuitive and personalised tool for self-study. It is aimed at illiterate learners of the German language. The app is also officially recognised as a teaching resource for literacy courses by the German Ministry for Migration and Refugees (Oktober 2018).

Target Group
Serlo ABC is aimed at juvenile and young adult refugees between the ages of 15 and 30. Designed as a tool for self-study, it also lends itself as an additional resource to literacy teachers seeking to cope with different learning paces in their class. For volunteering literacy teachers, the app also offers a didactically sound framework on which to base their course.

Content
Serlo ABC is based on the topics for the framework curriculum for integration courses by the responsible German authorities (Bundesamt für Migration und Flüchtlinge, Bundesministerium des Inneren & Goethe-Institut 2007, überarbeitet 2016), on the concept for a national literacy course (BAMF 2015), the concept for a national intergration course (BAMF 2013), and the curriculum for the national orientation course (BAMF 2016).
